Shipping Body Butter During The Summer
As we head into the long, sunny summer days, we wanted to give you some tips to keep your customers and their skin happy and hydrated this summer.
Here's what we recommend:

Reformulate Your Recipe
Since all body butters are made of oil, they are easier to liquefy in warmer temperatures. To keep this from happening, we recommend using emulsifiers. An emulsifier is a substance that is used to stabilize an emulsion. An emulsion is a mixture of two or more liquids that are unmixable (oil and water). An emulsified body butter incorporates an emulsifying wax into its ingredients to give it a smooth consistency and keeps them from separating.
Provide Faster Shipping
Reducing delivery times should be one of the top priorities in your business. We recommend offering same day or next day delivery to your customers. If you are located in Jamaica, we recommend sending your body butters via Knutsford Express's same-day delivery service. We also recommend using courier services if you have access to them.
Now is the best time to utilize stores for fulfillment, partner with another business, or rent a shelf inside one of your favourite stores and let your customers know where they can buy your products. We recommend that international orders be shipped within 1-5 business days.
We propose having numerous pickup locations in multiple Parishes, hiring trusted family or friends to fulfill these orders, or asking those who live in other parishes to store some of your inventory to speed up delivery. You need to get as close as possible to your best customers to meet their expectations.
Increase Your Delivery Prices
Consumers expectations for fast delivery have increased since the Covid-19 Pandemic and offering fast and free shipping is out of reach for many small business owners. This is why we recommend raising the prices of your body butters or raising the delivery fee.
Discontinuing Body Butters For Summer
This is optional, but we recommend producing less body butters or discontinuing them altogether for the summer. Instead, concentrate on selling body creams and oils. In comparison to body butters, which are often thicker and creamier, body creams contain a higher water content and a more liquid consistency. Bundle your body creams with body oils to provide full hydration: the body cream will hydrate your customers' skin on hot days, while the body oil will seal in the moisture.
